Part I: Senior All-Americans (2004)

Posted on December 17, 2007. Filed under: Football |

So it’s fun to see the All-American teams, and see who gets selected for the Pro-Bowl, but rarely do you get to see Pro-Bowl rosters ranked year by year like All-Americans. I figured I’d select what would be considered Freshman through Senior Year guys by their draft class.(1-4th year NFL players) Rankings are based on this yr, not their career. This is Part I of a IV Part series.

QB- Big Ben, Steelers,13th

RB- Steven Jackson, Rams, 24th- Almost went with Derrick Ward this yr- 235th

WR-Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals, 3rd

WR-Roy Williams, Lions, 7th

TE- Kellen Winslow, Browns, 6th

OT-Max Starks, Steelers, 75th

OG-Chris Snee, Giants, 34th

C-Nick Hardwick, Chargers, 66th

OG-Jake Scott, Colts, 141st

OT-Shaun Locklear, Seahawks, 84

DE-Jared Allen, KC, 126th

DT- Vince Wilfork, NE, 21st

DT- Tommie Harris, CHI, 14th

DE- Will Smith, NO, 18th

MLB-DJ Williams, DEN, 17th

OLB-James Harrison, Pitt, Undrafted

OLB-Karlos Dansby, AZ, 33rd

CB-DeAngelo Hall, ATL, 8th

CB- Jabari Greer, Buf, Undrafted

FS- Gibril Wilson, NYG,136th

SS-Bob Sanders, Indy, 44th

Junior Class will follow shortly, but for now let me know if there’s anyone on this roster you might change.

Nice list.

The Chargers got Nick Hardwick (3), Shane Olivea (7), Michael Turner (5), Igor Olshansky (2), Philip Rivers (1), Nate Kaeding (3), Shaun Phillips (4), and Wes Welker (undrafted) from this draft class. With the other pick they got from NYG in the Rivers deal they took Shawne Merriman in 2005. Not bad.

The One guy I left off this list who probably should be on over Snee or Scott is Shaun Andrews(Eagles) who is a Pro-Bowl reserve for the NFC.

I think I would have considered Willie over Jackson, Welker over Roy, and possibly changed some of the linemen/linebackers although that would be tough without simply looking at a stat sheet, which I think is unfair at those positions moreso than RB/WR/QB.
