Rules

Ok since I don’t have alot of time on this computer two things haver brought up were:

1. Keeper limit: I am not opposed on my initial rule of 7-10 or Haver’s unlimited. So you decide which one you like.

2. Pick-Ups: Since we had a couple of ideas for this, I will put it to vote as well. The options are 7, 10, or 15. You decide.

Other than that like Haver said this league is a “work-in-progress” so I am definitely open to suggestions and believe me, I have a ton. However, we are almost at the season’s Kick-Off so I will only entertain votes on these two rules and the options I have laid out. After the season starts feel free to post anything and EVERYTHING that comes to mind on the fantasy page. Thanks fellas, I expect big things.

1. I vote for unlimited amount, every keeper you keep over 7 you forfeit a pick.

2. I vote 7. Lets make this draft worthwhile. If you vote 15 you’re takin the easy way out and are scared. VOTE 7!

WELLS, GREAT POST

(1) i like unlimited keepers
(2) ill go with 10. Sounds like a good number basically a move a week.

I’d like to limit the keepers just so for the sake of next year’s draft. I’m not that worried about it but that’s my vote.

As far moves, my vote for closer to 15, mainly because I’ve never heard of most of my players and I’d kinda like to dabble. I think the obv probl

-I’d like to limit the keepers, in part for the sake of next year’s draft. 7 keepers gives you enough room to keep your key guys plus a young guy or two- but at least you have tough choices. 8,9,10 all would to to a lesser extent. Unlimited I just don’t think any good upperclassmen will end up in the draft. I’m not that worried about it but that’s my vote.

-As far as moves, my vote is for closer to 15 (not sure how many exactly), mainly because I’ve never heard of most of my players and I’d kinda like to dabble. I think the obv problem is that people could rotate guys who play against horrible opponents much like the 2-start pitcher churning in baseball. Maybe it wont work like that, but I’m just throwing it out there. I’m not worried about this that much either but again its my vote.

I have no idea why this site sometimes just re-sets the page on me- sometimes it posts what I’ve been typing and sometimes it doesnt.

I vote for a limit on the keepers. The rule was set prior to the draft at 7-10. If you change it to unlimited now then we might as well almost draft over again as it may have changed many peoples selections/strategy. Next year, (TERRELL) PRIOR TO THE DRAFT, the unlimited rule can be announced if approved. I feel like it’s the same argument Hoss had to increase keepers in baseball because he drafted all young guys. It wasn’t, and shouldn’t have been, allowed this year.

Pickups: 10 sounds good..this isn’t as important as the keeper rule though so whatever is decided upon is fine by me.

I don’t think the same thing applies. I don’t think people would be necessarily rewarded with keeping more than 10. Sure, you’d start off with 5-8 picks more than someone else, but that someone else would get the first 5-8 picks in the draft, players of their choice. Also, looking at my roster, I have a ton of underclassmen, but I don’t think I’d keep more than 10. I’m not gonna keep Pat McAfee because I can get a kicker anywhere and it’s not worth giving up a pick. Even some decent QB’s, RB’s and WR’s, it wouldn’t be worth it.

So…..
A. I don’t think it really helps teams
B. I don’t think it would be guaranteed to happen

I understand the argument, I just didn’t think it applied to here as much as it did to baseball. I just like the no-limit on keepers just for the option of having it possible if you so desire. I will of course do as the votes say, though.

i say no-limit on keepers and 7 roster moves. I feel I have drafted enough guys so I don’t need to make a move.

Pick-ups will be 10 for the year. It’s a happy medium and it’s what the cat wants.

Danks is clearly my boy with the last comment he made.

This doesnt have to do with the above topic but it’s a rules question so i thought i’d post it here. I noticed for defenses it just says Fumble -1. In NFL, we do forced fumble -1 and fumble recovery -1, so that if you force and recover it’s -2. Is that how we’re doing it here and you (Wells) just forgot, or is this correct and a fumble is just -1. Is that a forced fumble or the recovery? I was thinking you simply forgot but wanted to post and ask before Yetti added it.
