Fantasy College Football

Since this draft is taking a long time and because it’s a new process for most of us, I thought I’d write a few things I was thinking.

-Wells originally said 7 pickups and I told them that might not be enough and he bumped it up to 15.  But as this draft moves along, I think he might have been more on the money at first.  The draft is 28 freakin rounds long.  I think we all think it’s extremely long.  But I love how long it is.  And I think to really make this long draft important, there should be less moves inseason.  I’d rather the champion be the person that drafted the best, not the person that made the best inseason moves.  I think somewhere in the 5-10 moves during the year would be better for the league than 15.

a. Could do 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 moves per season through week 10

b. Could do 1, 2, 3 per week or no limit per week, just the season total.

-Wells said keepers was between 7-10, but basically it’s zero to 10.  When I originally suggested keeping as many as we wanted, he said he’d like to keep some structure, but I’d like to say the standard number of keepers is 7.  Keep 7 you keep all your draft picks.  Keep less than 7 and you get no additional picks and while you’re not forced to keep 7, you don’t benefit from keeping less than 7.  But the difference is I’d like the possibility of keeping as many players as possible.  If that’s 20 and you have to give up your first 13 draft picks, so be it.

In most other leagues I think once rules are set, they must be in stone for the entire year.  But I think we’re all in agreement that this is an ongoing learning experience and we can slightly adjust things now if most people are on board.

 I’m lovin this so far!

 Thoughts?!?

I think we should have more pickup flexibility at the beginning since the scheduling is kinda fucked up. but i think by mideseason rosters should just be set.

by the way i havent heard of a single player in 5 rounds.

I think there is nothing worse than when rules are in place and suggestions are made and then a third person posts and adds a THIRD suggestion. This only makes things worse. This only complicates. This is what angers people and nothing gets done.

Is it that tough to read this post and either decide if you like what’s in place better or what i suggested better?

Also, while you might like more pickup flexibility the ENTIRE POINT of this league and the huge roster is NOT to have pickup flexibility. This league wasnt designed for the winner to be the person that picked up the best people throughout the season.

Anyway, maybe this is why it’s easier to just keep what’s in place. However, I was talking with Wells tonight and he agreed with me. We have 28 freakin rounds in this draft. Let’s make them worthwhile. It’s enough for a second team. There aren’t that many bye weeks in college football. I’d be up for ZERO pickups. But for this year, my personal suggestion is 5-7 all year. Lets go with what we’ve got.
