Top 10 movies to watch for.

Posted on March 1, 2007. Filed under: Entertainment |

There are a whole bunch of awesome movies that are going to be coming out in the next few months. I narrowed my list to feature, what I think are going to be the top 10 to watch:

1. 300 (3/9/07) – Anyone who has seen the preview for this movie know what the deal is. Plus the fact that this is based on the true story of 300 spartans defending their people from the invasion of over 1 million persians! Add to the fact that its adapted from Frank Miller’s graphic novel and Quentin Tarantino has his hands all over it, its a can’t miss and will be the best movie this year.

2. Spider-Man 3 (5/4/07) Venom, Sandman and Hobgoblin all make their first apperances to battle spider-man in the 3rd of this comic series. Spidey don’s the black suit for alittle making him a badass and the action is going to be nonstop throughout the movie. Another can’t miss, especially if your a fan of comic books.

3. Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix (7/13/07) – This isn’t for everyone, but since its my top 10, I include this on here. Over the course of the first 4 books, Jk Rowling has turned this from an innocent kids series to a dark, violent and evil adult reading. In the 5th installment in the theaters, Harry forms his own army to battle against Voldermort and his death-eaters. Should be a great film for Potter fans, especially the last battle scene where the first of many shocking twists happen.

4. Grindhouse (4/6/07) – Two movies in one viewing..how cool is that? Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez each write and direct their own movie full of hot chicks, lots of action and a shitload of blood and guts. Should be very entertaining to say the least.

5. Blades of Glory (3/30/07) Will Farrell and Jon Heder star as two rival figure skaters who get thrown off the tour for fighting. The only way they can continue to do what they love is to set aside their differences and skate as a doubles pair. Need I say more?

6. Zodiac (3/2/07) – Although I read a few different books about this killer when I was younger, I was not all to looking forward to seeing this movie. But I must admit, the more I see the previews, the more anxious I am to see it. How was San Fransisco during this time? How were the people acting when the Zodiac was killing seemingly random people? I hope this movie answers some questions and I’m sure its going to.

7. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (6/15/07) – The FF are back and this time they have someone new to look out for. The Silver surfer! He looks awesome, he travels through building and people and it seems wherever he goes, the planet is destroyed within 8 days. Sounds good to me. Plus they have to make up for the first FF so this is a must see.

8. Transformers (7/6/07) – Autobots and Decepticons use earth as a battle ground. Most come to destroy us but some come to save us is the punch line. Amazing! Anyone who remembers them as kids will instantly wanna see this and the special effects alone should make it worth the admission.

9. Hostel II (6/8/07) – Probably isn’t on any “best of” lists of movies to see in 07, but if your the type of guy or gal who loves to see blood, guts and torture then this is the movie for you. Its going to be hard to outdo the first one, but if anyone can do it, Eli Roth can.

10. TMNT (3/23/07) – Their baaaaaccck! Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and of course Master Splinter. Strange things are happening in NYC and when a industrialist starts to form his own ancient mutant army, the turtles have to form together and eliminate them before they take over the world. Casey Jones and April are back to help the turtles in this newest installment of the series. Come on, its the TMNT for crying out loud!

I will be having another column full of more can’t miss movies, but like I said earlier, there are so many, I can only type so many at a time. Be ready for the next 10 movies you cant miss in 07. Coming soon to a computer near you!

Frankus just wanted to leave his mark / mark his territory…have not had a chance to read everything but looks kick ass wells

The Spider Man movies have been well done to this point, so there’s no reason to believe that the 3rd installment won’t also be stellar. I just wish that I had time to go back and see some of the movies that I have missed over the last 6 months, like Gridiron Gang, The Departed, etc.
